Last July it was announced that Robbie and Take That were back together and releasing an all new album. After meeting up in New York for a reunion they secretly recorded their album which would be released later on in the year. All the rumours and anticipation were over, it was true a 15-year wait and Robbie and Take That were back together. Normally a new album = a Tour and having been lucky enough to see Robbie 3 times at Manchester, Knebworth and Leeds, I was desperate to see them playing together.
In October, the tv and radio news had broadcasted that there was to be a special announcement by Take That the following day at 10.00am. So I went online to Take That official site to watch a stream with 21,000 viewers or more to hear the brilliant news of Gary announcing that Take That would be going back on tour. The five of them all read out the dates of the tour starting in the North East at Sunderland, then Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Wembley. The group had stated the new concert would be a mix of Robbie on his own, as a four and as a five. Mark stated that Robbie watched the Circus tour from 2 years ago and wanted to be part of it and they were trying to create a similar concert. The tickets were going on sale that Friday at 9.00am.
My excitement grew and grew at the thought of seeing Robbie live again and at the possibility of getting tickets nearer home in the North East at Sunderland. It seemed like everyone was talking about getting tickets, there was a real excitement building all over the country. Just a few days wait to try and get the golden tickets. Thursday night I set up all the Ticket agencies in my favourites ready.
Friday morning, I was up really early determined to get those tickets. I switched my PC on and had all the web sites on different tabs all open ready to try and get lucky. I knew demand would be high from my experience of getting Robbie William tickets in the past, also the fact that the band were back as a 5 for the first time since the 90’s was huge for everyone as well. I had the phone dialling numbers continually while also trying online. Infuriatingly the sites’ servers were down, I kept refreshing the pages but nothing and as for the phone that was constantly engaged on every number I tried. I persevered for hours still in the hope I could somehow get some.
It was approaching 1.00pm when see tickets site suddenly showed an extra date for Sunderland, the day after, the Tuesday. I didn’t delay a second, I quickly clicked the date and inputted the amount of tickets I wanted, my contact details, and bank details. It was promising; I got further than hundreds of previous attempts that morning. I rang people saying I think I have tickets for the big tour, though I wouldn’t get carried away til I got a confirmation e-mail back off them confirming this.
